Job summary

Worldline International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Legal Counsel based in Kuala Lumpur to provide strategic guidance, regulatory support, and commercial contracting across Southeast Asia and Greater China.

You will draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements, advise on corporate and regulatory matters, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Product and Compliance. PQE of 6-8 years and fluency in English and Mandarin are essential.

Qualifications

• LL.B or equivalent and Bar admission to practice in a common law jurisdiction.
• 6–8 years PQE in reputable law firm and in-house legal department.
• Experience handling Southeast Asia and Greater China legal matters.
• Excellent English and business-level Mandarin.
• Strong drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex technology, SaaS, and procurement contracts.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements across Worldline’s payment ecosystem.
• Provide proactive legal advisory on corporate, regulatory, employment, IP, data privacy and dispute resolution.
• Assess regulatory risks for new payment products and models (Cloud, SaaS, AI).
• Support regional corporate affairs, governance, and M&A activities.
• Manage external counsels and coordinate with Sales, Product, Compliance and Leadership.
• Develop and maintain contract templates and CLM workflows.
