About the position

We are looking for an Account Payable Team Leader who will join our Global Business Services division.

Global Business Services provides high quality, scalable and cost-efficient business support services, such as finance, HR and IT, to companies in the Wilhelmsen group.

The position will report to Senior Manager, Finance Shared Service.

What you will be doing
  • Managing the Account Payable (AP) Team
  • Leading a transition of accounting and finance knowledge from local finance offices
  • Improving operational effectiveness and efficiency by proposing improvements activities
  • Ensuring for month end and year end closure that deadlines and processes from respective areas are met
  • Ensuring that financial data are accurate and complete according to Corporate Accounting Guidelines
  • Providing guidance, on‑going support and development for the team(s), and lead future recruitment
  • Ensuring that requests are handled with professionalism and positive service attitude while ensuring that delivery is according to defined Service Level Agreements (SLA)
  • Establishing and maintaining close and professional partnerships with internal stakeholders
  • Actively driving internal initiatives aimed at continuous process improvement and realizing efficiencies
  • Following up on claims by proposing solutions and by escalating the challenges according to the company structure,
  • Identification of the deviations of the actual result from agreed targets proposing corrective action whenever necessary,
  • Treating all information received as strictly confidential
  • Fulfilling all other tasks delegated by the Superior.
Required experience and skills
  • 8‑10 years’ experience in finance processing in a high volume environment, preferably with a concentration in leading transactional accounting teams within an SSC/BPO environment
  • At least 3 years of management experience, preferably in managing team leads
  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent accounting certification is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and general knowledge of accounting principles
  • Extensive experience in managing transactional activities (i.e. AP, AR, Cash etc.)
  • Previous experience in migration of processes and/or system implementation preferred
  • Experience of using enterprise systems preferred (e.g. IFS, SAP, Oracle)
  • Excellent English skills required, written and verbal. Additional Asian/Hindu/Arabic language skills will be advantageous
Location

The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur office located at KL Sentral which is a strategic work location with convenience travelling by Monorail, Rapid Kelana Jaya Line, MRT and KTM services as well as easy to get to go by public transportation.
