Projects
  • Support two mature core SaaS products that are actively used by customers and continuously evolving.
  • Contribute to a successful data product providing market insights from the supply side.
  • Participate in the development and scaling of a new data product targeting the demand side, with major growth planned for H2 2025 and into 2026.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Combine data engineering and analytics to deliver business value.
  • Design, develop, and implement data pipelines for ingesting and transforming large volumes of data.
  • Build scalable data models that power the core platform.
  • Identify and analyze trends, and perform ad‑hoc analysis to generate insights that help clients make informed decisions.
Team Organization & Culture
  • Report to either the Product Manager or Head of Engineering (relocated from EU to Malaysia).
  • Collaborate with lead/senior Data Engineers based in Kuala Lumpur and Europe.
  • Join an entrepreneurial and ambitious team from Malaysia and Europe, including ex‑management consultants.
  • The engineering hub in Kuala Lumpur (15 staff) supports software development, data engineering, and analytics.
Must Have
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation, cleaning, and preparation.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a passion for working with numbers and turning data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to define and solve ambiguous, open‑ended business problems through exploratory and analytical approaches.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Pyspark, Databricks, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Background in consulting or a quantitative degree.
Grade / Level
  • 100 % individual contributor role.
  • 4–5+ years of hands‑on data experience.

Work Arrangement
  • Hybrid work model: 3 days in office per week.
  • Office located in Bangsar South / KL Gateway (close to MRT / LRT).
