What You’ll Be Doing
As an Analytics Engineer at Rotate, you'll help lay the data foundation for our products and client insights. Your role combines elements of data engineering and analysis, focusing on designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructures to enable high‑quality, usable data for analysis and decision‑making.
- Develop and maintain scalable data models that power our webapp and analytical tools.
- Design and implement data pipelines that ingest and transform large volumes of data from various sources.
- Translate business questions into data logic, ensuring products are tailored to client needs.
- Work with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Databricks) to deploy and manage data infrastructure.
- Process and organize both structured and unstructured data, ensuring quality, reliability, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to plan data architecture and integrate workflows into our broader platform.
- Investigate trends, perform ad‑hoc analysis, and generate insights that guide client decisions.
- Contribute to internal data standards, documentation, and best practices for analytics and engineering.
Job Requirements
What you’ll need
- A technical/quantitative degree or similar educational background.
- 3+ years of experience in extraction, transformation and loading data in a modern data management infrastructure.
- Hands‑on experience with modern data tools (e.g., Databricks, Airflow or similar).
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Strong analytical skills and experience delivering insights from data.
- Excited about working with the latest technologies in data modelling, data warehousing and cloud technology.
- Preferably, some knowledge around the Hadoop ecosystem, Databricks and Apache Spark.
- Curious, proactive and comfortable in an informal yet professional setting with freedom and responsibility.
- Comfortable working in cross‑cultural and multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Resident of Malaysia and possess a valid work permit for Malaysia.

Location
This role is based in our newly established office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our Malaysia office specializes in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Data Analysis. You will collaborate with talented tech colleagues.
