Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of corporate/commercial banking experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to gain substantial business for the Group across a full range of products.
  • Proven track record of building & developing long term relationships including at key decision maker level for all clients.
  • Strong knowledge of HSBC Group and products, and a strong network of contacts across all business areas.
  • Proven record of proactively developing and originating client solutions.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and develops a portfolio of corporate relationships with the aim of maximum return to the Bank while providing top-class customer service and maintaining sound credit quality.
  • Serve as primary coverage and corporate banker for Investment Banking portfolios; work with product partners in country and globally.
  • Coordinate with CST to ensure clients’ needs are covered proactively and efficiently.
  • Responsible for risk, financial analysis and preparation of credit proposals in partnership with the credit analyst team.
  • Maximise revenues of the customer portfolio and increase the Bank’s share of wallets.
  • Maintain high credit quality and comply with internal guidelines and external regulations.

We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Analyst (Investment Banking)

Role Purpose
  • Manages and develops a portfolio of corporate relationships with the aim of achieving maximum return to the Bank (globally as a whole) whilst providing top class customer service and maintaining sound credit quality and complying with both internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
  • The above role purpose covers for both HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd (HBMY) and HSBC Amanah Malaysia Bhd (HBMS).
  • Responsible as a primary coverage and corporate banker for Investment Banking portfolio. As the Relationship Manager / Global Relationship Manager (RM/GRM), he/she is responsible for all matter related to the account under him/her. He/She is expected to work with various product partners in country as well as globally within the HSBC’s global network. He/She will also be responsible for the risk, financial analysis and preparation of credit proposals in partnership with the credit analyst team (CAU). Primary focus is to support Global Banking with a quality and efficient platform to grow its business and mitigate credit risks.
  • To maximize the revenues of customer portfolio and increase the Bank’s share of customer’s wallets
  • To maintain a high level of credit quality in the jobholder’s customer portfolio and to mitigate the hidden risks of the evolving CIB products.
  • To build effective customer relationships and to become the customers’ preferred financial partner and trusted advisor.
  • To coordinate the customer service team (CST) to ensure the clients’ needs are covered in a proactive and efficient manner.
  • To maximise the effectiveness of subordinates and provide guidance to his/her career development.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
