Job summary

Evonik Malaysia seeks an experienced AI/ML leader to architect and deliver enterprise-scale AI solutions across production and business processes. You will drive end-to-end design, development, and operationalization using Python, APIs, Docker/Kubernetes, and Azure cloud-native tools.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in AI/ML/DS roles, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions in a global company. Excellent communication and ownership are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in AI engineering, ML, software or data science with production toy in enterprise AI.
• Hands-on ML/DL, generative AI, LLMs, RAG, agentic AI, evaluation and optimization.
• Strong AI systems and data architecture, Azure cloud-native platforms, secure design.
• Advanced Python, SQL, APIs, microservices, Azure AI services, Databricks, Docker, Kubernetes.
• MLOps/LLMOps, lifecycle governance, deployment pipelines and monitoring.
• Knowledge of manufacturing or chemical processes and enterprise AI tools.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in AI engineering, machine learning, software engineering, or data science, with a proven record of delivering enterprise-scale AI solutions to production.
• Hands-on expertise in machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, LLMs, RAG, agentic AI, model evaluation, optimization, responsible AI, and industrial or business process AI applications.
• Strong understanding of AI systems architecture, enterprise data architecture, Azure cloud-native AI platforms, API-first integration, secure platform design, and end-to-end AI operationalization.
• Advanced Python proficiency, with solid experience in SQL, APIs, microservices, software architecture, Azure DevOps, Azure AI services, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, and modern engineering workflows.
• Experience with MLOps, LLMOps, lifecycle management, monitoring, governance controls, deployment pipelines, performance management, and cloud-native platform engineering.
• Knowledge of manufacturing or chemical process environments, process modelling and simulation, optimization, operations research, enterprise AI platforms, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, LeanIX, SAP BTP, Azure, and Databricks.

Languages

Business-fluent English. German language skills are an advantage.

Team contributer, strong sense of ownership, hands‑on mentality, technical leadership, and excellent communication skills in interdisciplinary business and technical environments.
