Job Description Summary

Aero Alliance is seeking a senior and visionary Plant Director to drive the transformation of our shop operations in Malaysia. Our Port Klang shop, located in PKFZ in Pulau Indah, is overhauling aero-derivative gas turbines engines, modules and components for the oil & gas and power generation Customers. This pivotal role requires a highly experienced leader with at least 10 years of experience in shop operations in Malaysia. The Plant Leader will be instrumental in elevating the shop to the next level by fostering a change in approach and company culture, leading the growth from 30 to 100 people to support increasing Component Repair business of Aero-derivative gas turbines. This role will also be a focal point to support the upcoming local investments, such as the creation of a full module overhaul shop, including testing, in Malaysia. Increasing responsibility could be foreseen in the upcoming years. This position reports directly to the L5 Project Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Vision: Provide strategic leadership to guide the plant operations towards achieving world-class standards and operational excellence.
  • Select, hire, train, develop and provide ongoing leadership and direction of assigned operation (hourly and salaried). Support the development of manufacturing operations leadership and technical talent and depth.
  • Champion positive employee relations. Foster employee engagement and ensure that business and operational goals are effectively communicated to employees. Promote team morale, diversity, involvement/ownership, and skills development.
  • Team Development: Cultivate a high-performing team by mentoring, coaching, and fostering professional growth among staff.
  • Operational Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to optimize production processes, enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing.
  • Monitor and improve cost productivity, including inventory and P&E management.
  • Cross-functional Facilitator: Work closely among departments to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication with senior leadership, stakeholders and external partners to advance plant objectives.

Required Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of experience in shop operations in Malaysia.
  • Proven track record of driving cultural and operational change in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and develop strategic plans.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience with aeroderivative turbines or related industries is considered a plus.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional team environment.
