Job summary

KPJ Penang Specialist Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse with Post Basic qualification to provide high-quality patient care across urgent and routine settings. You will lead nursing care, triage patients, and collaborate with doctors and the care team to ensure safety and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license to practice.
• Post Basic qualification in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to nursing care vision, mission, goals and objectives and perform shift duties as assigned by the Unit Manager.
• Notify the unit manager of changes affecting standards of care.
• Provide high-quality care in urgent situations and manage ambulance transfers.
• Conduct patient triaging with detailed examinations and documentation.
• Identify and collaborate with doctors and team members to manage life-threatening conditions.
• Perform phlebotomy and IV infusions and assist with procedures as directed.
• Assist with patient admission and discharge, and schedule clinic appointments.
• Handover progress reports and follow doctors' orders.
• Visit patients with the team to reassess care and priorities.
• Provide holistic patient care using the nursing process and maintain documentation.
• Offer emotional support to patients and accompany doctors during rounds.
• Execute doctor's orders and coordinate with the team for treatment.
• Participate in health education and unit meetings.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families.
• Collaborate with unit manager on administration and care standards.
• Accurately record charges for equipment and consumables.
• Inspect sterile packs and maintain adequate unit stock.
