Job summary

A dynamic multinational company based in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced accountant. The role includes maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing financial statements, and supporting audits. Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 2–3 years of relevant experience, ideally in financial reporting or with an audit background. Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel is essential.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in general ledger or financial reporting.
  • Experience in audit (especially with big 4 firms) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS / local GAAP).

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with accounting policies and standards.

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.

  • Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.

  • Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports.

  • Prepare tax filings and work with Group Tax team for statutory submission.

  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and statutory requirements.

  • Assist in audits (internal and external) by preparing schedules and documentation.

  • Support process improvement initiatives, including automation and system enhancements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting.

  • Perform ad hoc assignments as and when required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Professional qualification or progress towards Chartered Accountant (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW) preferred.

  • 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in general ledger or financial reporting. Experience in audit (especially big 4) is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS / local GAAP).

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and MS Excel.

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently under tight deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
