Job summary

A global maritime company located in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced accountant to manage seafarer payments, tax returns, and financial reconciliations. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Accounting, has at least 2 years of experience, and familiarity with SAP. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail, contributing to both regular accounting tasks and ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in SAP/payroll will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Verify seafarer contracts, movements & bank details in Crew Management Software.
• Process monthly/final wages & payments to seafarers using Crew Payroll Software.
• Process monthly statutory contributions for seafarers.
• Process Cash to Master payments and register accounting entries in SAP.
• Perform monthly/quarterly reconciliation of crew control accounts.
• Submit employers’ income tax returns IR8A for seafarers.
• Liaise with Business Units on operation matters.
• Involve in other ad-hoc process improvement projects.

1. Verify seafarer contracts, movements & bank details updated in Crew Management Software.

2. Processing monthly/final wages & payments to seafarer using Crew Payroll Software (auto-interface to SAP).

3. Processing monthly statutory contributions for seafarer.

4. Processing Cash to Master payments and register its accounting entries into SAP.

5. Perform monthly/quarterly reconciliation of crew control accounts.

6. Yearly submission of employers’ income tax returns IR8A for seafarer.

7. Liaise with Business Units on operation matters.

8. Involve in other ad-hoc process improvement projects.
