A licensed payment service provider in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Accounts Payable professional. This role involves maintaining accurate accounting records, handling the full AP cycle, and supporting audit compliance. Maintain accurate and complete accounting records in accordance with IFRS and internal policies.
Perform hands-on bookkeeping activities, including proper double-entry posting (debit / credit).
Assist in month-end closing activities, including AP schedules, accruals, and expense analysis.
Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for financial statements.
Record expenses, invoices, staff claims, and vendor transactions accurately into NetSuite.
Maintain proper documentation and electronic filing of invoices, payment proofs, and supporting documents.
Support intercompany billing and reconciliations where required.
Handle the full AP cycle, from invoice verification, approval tracking, to payment execution.
Review and validate supporting documents submitted by departments prior to payment processing.
Ensure strict compliance with approval matrices, internal controls, and audit requirements.
Prepare vendor and staff payments (local and overseas) in banking platforms for approver review and authorisation.
Maintain accurate vendor master data and payment terms in NetSuite.
Monitor AP aging, follow up on outstanding items, and escape issues when necessary.
Perform monthly AP reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with vendors promptly.
Actively support external and statutory audits, including preparation of AP listings, invoices, payment proofs, and supporting schedules.
Understand audit requirements and respond to auditor queries in a timely and organised manner.
Ensure all accounting and AP transactions comply with internal financial policies and audit standards.
Support process improvements related to AP, documentation, and controls where applicable.
Provide support on ad-hoc reporting and finance-related tasks as required.
Liaise closely with Finance team members to ensure smooth day-to-day accounting operations.
Support other operational accounting tasks as the business scales.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and bookkeeping.
Audit background is preferred, or strong exposure to working with auditors and audit documentation.
Solid understanding of double-entry accounting principles and practical application.
Hands-on experience using accounting systems (Oracle NetSuite is a strong advantage).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office tools.
Highly detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable handling repetitive and operational accounting work.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and ability to liaise with internal stakeholders across departments.
Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take on additional responsibilities as required.
