Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Executive to join our retail team. As an Accounts Executive, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth accounts operations of our retail business. Your primary responsibilities will include handling full set accounts and managing subsidiary companies' financial matters. You will work closely with the finance team and report directly to the Head of Operations Finance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the full set of accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee financial operations of subsidiary companies, including preparing financial reports, consolidating accounts, and managing intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review, analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts, monitor performance against budget targets, and provide variance analysis to management.
  • Ensure timely filing of tax returns and compliance with all tax regulations, and support tax audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors, and perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash balances.
  • Monitor and control expenses in line with budgetary guidelines, and continuously review and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to company accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA will be advantageous.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Executive or similar role in the retail industry, with at least 3 years of experience in full set accounts and subsidiary company management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards. Familiarity with relevant accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Proficient in financial analysis and reporting, with the ability to interpret and present financial data effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Ethical and trustworthy with confidential financial information.
  • A positive and collaborative attitude, contributing to the overall success of the finance team and the organization.
  • Must be willing to work at Kajang.
