A leading interior design and build company in Malaysia is seeking an experienced accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with Malaysian standards. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in accounting, 2–4 years of relevant experience, and strong MS Excel skills. Handle day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, GL entries, and bank reconciliation.
Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, cash flow summaries, and variance analysis.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records aligned with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
Support external auditors during annual audit processes and ensure timely audit completion.
Monitor project budgets, work-in-progress (WIP), costing, and claims.
Track project expenditures and verify supplier invoices against purchase orders, delivery orders, and project progress.
Prepare monthly project cost reports to support project managers and management.
Assist in preparing client progress claims, VO documentation, and revenue recognition.
Process supplier invoices, staff claims, subcontractor payments, and utility bills in an accurate and timely manner.
Ensure proper verification and approval workflows before payment issuance.
Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with clients on overdue payments.
Reconcile supplier statements and maintain updated aging reports.
Assist in preparing SST submissions, withholding tax documentation, and statutory filings required in Malaysia.
Ensure compliance with government regulations, accounting standards, and internal financial policies.
Maintain proper documentation, filing, and digital record management in compliance with audit requirements.
Liaise with banks, auditors, tax agents, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Support HR/administration functions such as payroll data preparation (if required) and staff claim verification.
Assist management with ad hoc financial tasks, analysis, or improvement initiatives.
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
Minimum 2–4 years accounting experience, preferably in construction, design & build, or project-based industries.
Knowledge of MFRS and Malaysian tax regulations (especially SST).
Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic analysis).
Familiarity with project costing, progress claims, and construction documentation is highly advantageous.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and financial discipline.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong integrity, professionalism, and sense of accountability.
