Job description

We are a retail group seeking an Accounting Manager to manage the organization’s financial accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective financial controls. The role oversees accounting operations, supports budgeting and audits, and provides financial insights to support business decision-making. This full-time position is based in our Kuala Lumpur office, reports to Head of Finance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, payables, receivables, and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and produce full set of accounts to present to management
  • Record, reconcile, and monitor intercompany transactions across group entities, ensuring accuracy and timely settlement
  • Monitor AP payment preparation according to terms and different payment mode and proper recording in system from time to time
  • Check for customer deposit clearance and guardian for petty cash
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and external stakeholders
  • Monitor cash flow, bank accounts, and financial transactions
  • Review and approve invoices, payments, and journal entries
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements
  • Support management with financial analysis and reporting
  • Lead and supervise the accounts team
  • Liaise with banks when necessary
  • Perform any other related duties or assignments as and when required by the Management
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications like CPA, CMA, ACCA, or CFA is preferred.
  • Experience: 4-7 years of experience in accounting, or a related role in retail, manufacturing or trade industry
  • Skills: Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Microsoft NAV Accounting system).
  • Able to meet tight datelines and work independently
