Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and regulations is an advantage.

  • Support the Finance team in reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant who is detail-oriented, proactive, and a strong team player to join our Finance department in Kuala Lumpur. The best candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and dynamic environment, and is excited to support our BREX operations and daily accounting functions. Strong analytical and organizational skills are essential, along with experience in accounting or finance roles. About BREX
  • BREX is a modern financial platform designed to streamline company spending, travel, and reimbursement processes. It provides employees with easy-to-use tools for submitting expenses, managing travel bookings, and ensuring compliance with company policies. As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the administration and reconciliation of transactions processed through BREX, ensuring accuracy and timely reimbursement for employees.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily accounting operations, including data entry, invoice processing, and expense tracking for BREX-related activities.
  • Support the Finance team in reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and support compliance initiatives.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and process improvements.
  • Respond to inquiries related to BREX transactions and provide administrative support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Finance department.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and regulations is an advantage.
