The Accountant (Malaysia) is responsible for handling day-to-day finance operations for the regional office, ensuring accuracy in financial records and compliance with the region's accounting standards , statutory requirements, and internal financial policies, both globally and locally. This role also contributes to monthly closing, financial reporting, and audit preparation.

The role will work closely with the Singapore finance team to support group-wide finance processes, including reporting, reconciliation, and alignment of financial practices across entities.

This is a cross-border role that requires strong coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders in both Malaysia and Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for full set of accounting processes and tasks (i.e. AP & AR process, GL, account reconciliation etc.) for a few entities

Prepare consolidated financial statements

Review monthly management accounts, financial statements and resolve discrepancies

Coordinate with internal and external parties including external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities

In-charge of submission of all tax and regulatory filing, statutory audits, procedures and forms

Lead new processes and system implementation

Requirements:

Diploma/Degree in Accounting or a related discipline

3-4 years relevant experience within Banking & Finance, Fintech industry or audit

Strong understanding/appreciation of excel, accounting software, automation tools using API

Good knowledge of relevant technologies (e.g. RPA) or methodologies (e.g MACRO, VBA, Power Query) to improve user experience and streamline work processes

Detail-oriented, self-motivated, resourceful, and a proactive team player

Willing to challenge status quo

Note: You must be willing to commute to Singapore 3–5 days per week as part of role requirements till probation ends unless stated otherwise by the hiring team. (Transportation Allowance will be given when needed to commute)
