Job Responsibilities
1. Managing Accounting Functions
- a. Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions (GL, AR, AP, reporting).
- b. Review monthly management accounts and financial analysis.
- c. Ensure compliance with MPERS, internal accounting policies, and reporting deadlines.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- a. Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
- b. Monitor actual against budget performance and prepare variance analysis.
- c. Support management in identifying cost‑saving or efficiency opportunities.
3. Compliance & Audit
- a. Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory reports, tax filings, and SST returns.
- b. Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and relevant authorities.
- c. Maintain comprehensive audit trails and documentation.
4. Team Supervision & Process Improvement
- a. Supervise Accounts Executive and Accounts Assistant in daily operations.
- b. Review work output, provide guidance, and ensure process compliance.
- c. Drive continuous improvement in accounting workflows and system efficiency.
5. Business Partnering
- a. Work closely with operations, project, and HR teams to help them understand and use financial information effectively.
- b. Assist in conducting feasibility studies and performance analysis for management review.
- c. Contribute to decision-making through reliable financial interpretation.
Job Requirements
1. Education
- a. Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MIA preferred).
2. Experience
- a. At least 5 years’ experience in senior role.
- b. Experience in property development, construction, or hospitality industries is an added advantage.
3. Technical Skills
- a. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft 365.
- b. In-depth understanding of MPERS, Malaysian income tax and SST.
- c. Advanced Excel and analytical skills for financial reporting and review.
