Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to oversee the full spectrum of financial and accounting functions within our personal care manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on with manufacturing costing, cash flow management, and ensuring the company’s financial systems, records, and reporting are accurate and compliant with Malaysian accounting standards and industry practices. The suitable candidate will be performing with senior level capabilities or able to expedite competency, and will be aided by 2 accounting executives to ensure accounts are in order. Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and variance analyses for management review.

Maintain and update the company’s cash flow position, providing regular forecasts and liquidity updates to management.

Ensure timely month‑end and year‑end closing, audit preparation, and financial reconciliation.

Manufacturing & Cost Accounting

Perform manufacturing product costing and variance analysis, including raw material usage, conversion costs, wastage tracking, and yield analysis.

Monitor production cost efficiencies and provide financial insights to improve profitability and reduce overheads.

Collaborate closely with the factory team to verify stock movement, wastage, and cost allocation.

Compliance & Audit

Coordinate with external auditors and tax agents, ensuring compliance with SST, Income Tax Act, and E‑Invoice regulations in Malaysia.

Manage import/export documentation, forex transactions, and customs‑related financial records to ensure compliance with cross‑border trade requirements.

Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

System Integration & Process Improvement

Lead the transition from SQL Accounting System to ERP platform, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and continuity of operations.

Integrate accounting workflows with production and inventory systems for real‑time cost tracking and reporting.

Continuously enhance accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Departmental Oversight

Supervise daily accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll journal posting, and bank reconciliations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent preferred).

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing accounting, preferably in FMCG or personal care industry.

Strong knowledge of Malaysian taxation, SST, and e‑Invoicing systems.

Proficient in SQL Accounting System, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems.

Solid understanding of forex transactions, import/export documentation, and costing in manufacturing environments.

Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with management, auditors, and factory personnel.

Proven ability to work independently and in a small accounting team effectively.
