Job summary

A leading wood manufacturing company based in Kedah, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Account Manager to maintain full sets of accounts and prepare financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 5 years of experience and proficiency in accounting software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, and Mandarin fluency is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting and/or auditing.
• Knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and local tax regulations.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Maintain full set of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and cash flow analysis.
• Ensure timely submission of SST, tax filings, and statutory payments (e.g., EPF, SOCSO).
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Conduct internal audits to evaluate financial controls, processes, and compliance.
• Identify and report discrepancies or areas of improvement in accounting and operational practices.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies.
• Support the Finance Manager in implementing best practices and financial procedures.
• Perform related monthly reporting submission to the headquarters in China.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ACCA Affiliate or Member is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting and/or auditing.
• Knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and local tax regulations.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL, SAP, or equivalent) and MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous, responsible and positive working attitude.
• Able to perform multitasking in fast-paced working environment.
• Proficient in Chinese, able to apply to daily work docking.

Preferred

• English, Bahasa Melayu, and Mandarin speakers to effectively engage with a diverse client base. Mandarin-speaking candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.
