Position Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Account Manager with a strong technical background in food ingredients and applications based in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will combine technical understanding with commercial acumen to drive business growth, develop strong customer relationships, and promote our ingredient portfolio across the food, beverage, and nutrition markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute effective sales strategies for the Human Nutrition segment, targeting both existing accounts and new business opportunities.
  • Client Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to meet product development and business goals.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of food ingredients to support customers in product development and innovation.
  • Market Insight: Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Product Promotion: Stay current on new ingredient technologies and product launches to effectively position and promote Barentz’s Human Nutrition portfolio.
  • Performance Goals: Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs, contributing to the overall growth of the Human Nutrition division.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the food, beverage, or nutrition industry, preferably with a focus on functional or specialty ingredients.
  • Technical Background: Solid understanding of human nutrition science and food ingredient functionality. Experience in applications or formulation support is a plus.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline, close deals, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills. Able to translate technical information into commercial value for customers.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Biochemistry, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are advantageous.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, customer-focused, strategic thinker with strong organizational and analytical skills. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
