Job summary

A reputable accounting firm in Kuching, Sarawak is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to manage the full set of accounts for the head office and its branches. The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Accounting, a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, and proficiency in accounting software. Responsibilities include overseeing retail and wholesale accounting operations, ensuring compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, and guiding branch accounting teams. Job description

Manage full set of accounts for head office and branches.

Handle group consolidation, month-end and year-end closing.

Oversee retail and wholesale accounting operations.

Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, SST, and tax regulations.

Prepare management accounts, financial reports, and analysis.

Coordinate audits and liaise with auditors and tax agents.

Guide, supervise, and support branch accounting teams.

Standardize accounting procedures and strengthen internal controls.

Monitor cash flow, budgeting, cost control, and inventory records.

Support management with financial planning and business decision-making.

Requirements
Academic & Professional Qualifications

Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Professional certificate (ACCA, CPA, MIA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting.

Experience in retail and wholesale business is highly preferred.

Strong exposure in group accounting, multi-branch operations, and consolidated reporting.

Proven ability to handle full set of accounts independently.

Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, SST, and tax matters.

Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL, Autocount, UBS or similar).

Detail-oriented, structured, and strong analytical mindset.

Able to lead, coach, and communicate effectively with branch teams.

High integrity, sense of ownership, and ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to travel to branches when required.
