A reputable financial services company in Kuantan, Malaysia, is seeking an Accounting Officer to manage daily operations of the Accounting Department. Key tasks include overseeing accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger, ensuring timely closing of accounts and compliance with financial policies. Candidates should have a Degree in Accountancy and at least one year of relevant experience, with strong interpersonal and analytical skills. This role requires self-motivation and attention to detail.
Responsible for the daily operations of the Accounting Department, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Interco, Bank Reconciliation
Ensure that all payments and invoices are prepared promptly and has been processed and approved following proper internal control procedures and SOPs
Preparation of general ledger entries and ensuring all accounting records are properly updated in the accounting software with supporting documents
Ensure timely monthly/yearly closing of accounts and generation of financial reports
Assist in preparation of periodic management/statutory reports and schedules
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, financial policies and procedures
Assist in new processes and system implementation when required
Undertake any other ad hoc duties as and when assigned
