Job summary

A&F Global Group Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam, Malaysia is seeking a junior to mid-level fashion designer to support collection development from concept to final product. You will help with trend research, mood boards, and technical sketches, collaborating with production and design teams.

The candidate should have a degree in fashion-related fields, strong sketching skills, and fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. This role requires a hands-on, fast-paced contributor in our design studio.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Merchandising, or a related creative field.
Strong understanding of fashion trends, textiles, color theory, and garment construction.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for creating technical flats, mood boards, and presentation graphics.
Ability to sketch designs by hand and translate concepts into wearable garments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with design teams and other departments.
A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating innovative and aesthetically pleasing designs.
Familiarity with the fashion industry landscape, including sourcing, production processes, and market demands.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential for effective communication within the company and with local stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Assist senior designers in the creation of new fashion collections, from initial concept development to final product.
Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify emerging styles, fabrics, and color palettes relevant to the brand's aesthetic.
Prepare detailed technical sketches and specifications for garments, ensuring accuracy for pattern making and sampling.
Collaborate with the production team to oversee the sampling process, providing feedback and making necessary adjustments.
Organize and maintain the design studio, including fabric swatches, mood boards, and sample archives.
Participate in design meetings, contributing creative ideas and presenting mood boards and initial design concepts.
Source and select fabrics, trims, and accessories in line with design direction and budget constraints.
