About the job

The Asset and Treasury Management Intern is accountable for the processing of transactions related to Asset Management and Treasury Accounting. This includes Asset and Cash booking, reconciliation, and reporting.

This role will support the A2R team in ensuring the enforcement of accounting standards and reliability of the data collected from management, controllers, tax department, and technical end-to-end (E2E) processes. The role requires active participation in driving A2R continuous improvement initiatives and supporting all kinds of queries from stakeholders related to Asset and Treasury Management.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations
  • Deliver quality reporting of legal statutory accounts and consolidation packages within local regulatory and Sanofi Group calendar timeframes.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS) and company procedures to maintain financial information integrity.
  • Collaborate with other End to End teams (P2P and OTC), tax & treasury departments, and Country Finance to manage and address potential closing risks.
  • Respond to and resolve enquiries from Country Finance/Internal and External customers.
  • Support Asset & Treasury Management Lead in CFO closing meetings by providing detailed analysis and/or explanation of material changes.
  • Perform general duties including correct booking of assets, depreciations, and treasury transactions.
  • Ensure SOP documentations are updated timely to reflect latest process/tool/policy changes.
  • Propose and support projects aiming to transform and automate Asset and treasury accounting processing.
  • Implement and ensure alignment to assets & treasury accounting core model.
  • Deliver quality data entries of treasury transactions and perform adequate reconciliation.
Compliance
  • Ensure SOX and Internal Control Framework compliance across activities, and support Asset & Treasury Management Lead and Country Finance to identify and address any gaps.
  • Support external and internal audits by working closely with Asset & Treasury Management Lead and Country Finance.
  • Ensure adequate follow-up on issues identified during external and internal audits.
Continuous improvement
  • Support Asset & Treasury Management Lead and Closing and Reporting team in monitoring performance against agreed SLAs and define corrective actions where necessary.
  • Identify and articulate improvement areas across processes and technology – including ERP and other tools and solutions.
  • Contribute ideas in customer satisfaction initiatives, including regular assessment of service satisfaction across Country Finance and other stakeholders.
  • Embrace RPA mindset and be a project driver.
About you
Key Requirements: Essential Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 1 of relevant working experience in the Finance/Accounting sector, A2R, or SSC (Fresh graduates may be considered)
  • Working experience with SAP, specifically Fi/Co (assets)
  • Experience with Blackline or other treasury tools is a plus
  • Proficient in the use of applications in the MS-Office suite, including MS-Excel
  • Good English and Mandarin communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of accounting standards: main country of the region and IFRS
  • Attention to detail
Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or equivalent
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Working experience in a customer-facing and service-oriented corporate position
  • Working experience in a Finance shared services environment, either Hub (in-house) or in a BPO setting
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in Account to Report
