Job description
About the Company

Randstad is collaborating with a global heavyweight in the Software & Technology Solutions space. Known for their innovation and rapid market expansion, this MNC is currently transforming their finance function from a back‑office support unit into a strategic driver of the business. They are looking for a Finance Business Partner who speaks the language of sales and operations as fluently as they speak accounting. This is not a role for someone who wants to hide behind spreadsheets; it is for a commercial thinker ready to sit at the table with business leaders and influence the company's direction.

The Role

This position sits within the Commercial Finance team. You will step away from the routine of statutory reporting and tax filing. Instead, your primary focus will be looking forward. You will act as the “CFO” for a specific business unit or region, serving as the trusted advisor to the General Manager and Sales Directors. Your goal is to translate financial data into actionable business insights that drive revenue, protect margins, and optimize spend.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Business Partnering
    • Commercial Co-Pilot: Partner directly with Sales, Marketing, and Operations leaders to challenge assumptions, validate strategies, and drive financial performance.
    • Decision Support: Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis for key business decisions (e.g., new market entry, product launches, or large‑scale tender pricing).
    • Storytelling: Translate complex financial results into clear, commercial narratives for non‑finance stakeholders. Tell the story behind the numbers.
  2. FP&A & Performance Management
    • Planning Cycle: Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), quarterly re‑forecasts, and rolling forecasts. Ensure accuracy and alignment with corporate strategy.
    • Variance Analysis: Go beyond simple “Actual vs. Budget” comparisons. Dig deep to identify the root causes of variances (price, volume, mix) and recommend corrective actions to the leadership team.
  3. Commercial Optimization
    • Deal Support: Review and approve commercial terms for large contracts. Ensure pricing strategies align with margin targets.
    • Cost Control: Analyze ROI on marketing spend and operational expenses (OPEX) to ensure resources are allocated to the highest‑growth areas.
Key Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5‑8 years of experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to FP&A, Commercial Finance, or Business Partnering.
  • Industry: Prior experience in the IT, Tech, SaaS, or Telecommunications sector is highly preferred due to the specific revenue recognition and cost models involved.
  • Skills: Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel) are mandatory. Experience with BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) is a strong plus.
  • Soft Skills: You must be confident, articulate, and capable of pushing back against senior stakeholders when necessary.
  • Qualification: A Degree in Finance/Business or a Professional Qualification (CIMA/ACCA/CPA). CIMA members often fit well in this profile.
