Job summary

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate functional testers and equipment for PCBA and system-level testing.

• Maintain technical documentation and test reports for audits.
• Support risk management activities and contribute to Design for Test reviews.

• Monitor tester performance, yield, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support factory and site acceptance tests for new equipment.
• Provide technical support regarding test requirements.

Summary

The Engineer, Test Manufacturing accepts, transfers, installs, improves and maintains automatic test equipment and test programs that are used for product testing and design verification. They also may support the test development of the test equipment and processes to ensure robust and high quality test solutions and final products are realized.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Design, develop, Sustain and validate functional tester, test fixtures, and equipment for PCBA and system level testing.
• Create and execute validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ, TMV) to meet medical device regulatory requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of test failures, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Ensure all test processes comply with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820 standards.
• Maintain technical documentation, test reports, and evidence for audits and regulatory inspections.
• Support risk management activities and contribute to Design for Test (DFT) reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Program, Quality, Manufacturing) to integrate test systems into production lines.
• Monitor tester performance, yield, and cycle time, drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for new equipment before release to production.
• Work with suppliers on tester design, fixture procurement, and instrumentation readiness.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders regarding test requirements and implementation.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Strong knowledge of automated test equipment (ATE, ICT, FCT) and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (ISO 13485, FDA, IEC).
• Skills in project management, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated industries. (preferred)
