Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a Diploma with 5-10 years of relevant experience).
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the semiconductor, capital equipment, or high-tech manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge of electronics and DOE/SPC methods.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, application software, and tooling for capital equipment machines.
• Participate in initiatives to improve yield, productivity, and cycle times through technical analysis and process optimization.
• Assist in evaluating machine and process capabilities using Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to maintain throughput and cost-efficiency.
• Perform root-cause analysis for product or process failures during factory operations and implement corrective actions.
• Provide feedback to product design teams regarding manufacturability (DFM) to optimize assembly during new product stages.
• Create and update test procedures, work/assembly instructions, and implementation documentation for New Product Introductions (NPI).
• Ensure manufacturing and test equipment are calibrated, maintained, and compliant with quality management standards and procedures.
• Provide guidance and training to production operators and technician teams on new or modified processes.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Support the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, application software, and tooling for capital equipment machines.
• Participate in initiatives to improve yield, productivity, and cycle times through technical analysis and process optimization.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Working knowledge of electronics, analog, power, and digital systems.
• Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods.
• Exposure to high-voltage/insulation testing protocols and basic proficiency in CAD software for tool and fixture concepts.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and relevant technical standards.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English, with proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the semiconductor, capital equipment, or high-tech manufacturing sector.
