Job summary

Celestica in Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia is seeking a Production Technical Operator 4 to join our OPS - Production team. You will perform manual assembly, operate automated equipment, hand solder, and inspect products, while assisting with line setups and first-line maintenance.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant manufacturing experience; strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to follow diverse procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
• In-depth knowledge of board assembly process and product process flow.
• In-depth knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications and SMT processing systems.
• Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.
• Ability to recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and to address those problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
• Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high quality production within tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of in-circuit and functional test fixturing.
• Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and Documentation control systems.
• More advanced manufacturing systems knowledge

Summary

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
• Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye co-ordination, sitting and or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.
• Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects over.
• Duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.
• Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines.

Typical Experience

• Four to five years of relevant experience.

Typical Education

• High school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and a commitment towards further / additional education.
