In Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc., the Senior Product Data Specialist maintains the integrity of product master data within the Enterprise Change Management (ECM) process and executes product changes with speed and accuracy across both Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) environments. The scope of work includes sustaining and improving processes related to the creation and maintenance of master data during product development, resolving data issues, identifying process improvement needs, training data owners on best practices, and leading data changes and change control throughout the product lifecycle in both PLM & ERP environments.
- Assures all product data is completed when needed, accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with data governance policies.
- Executes the ECM process supporting multiple global partners including Product Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware/Software), Platform Management, NPD Project Management, Technical Illustrations, Product Compliance, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Product Marketing, and external suppliers.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for end-to-end data structure, including multiple sources of truth, intersystem dependencies, functional groups, and data output forms related to product creation, BOM management, and labeling.
- Leads project activities and meetings as a Change Management representative to ensure timely data entry.
- Handles setup, approval, and maintenance of product records, ensuring data is stored or published correctly.
- Creates and maintains product information from CAD component data through PLM BOMs and into ERP BOM structures and revisions.
- Proactively resolves master data issues, ensuring alignment with the source of truth.
- Identifies and proposes business solutions impacting GPD processes and product master data.
- Provides training and support to global partners on change management and product master data.
- Associate degree in engineering, technology, IT, systems, business, or related field.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering change management, BOM maintenance, data management, and change control within ERP/PLM systems. Preferred platforms include:
- SolidWorks & Altium CAD
- Dassault 3D Experience/Enovia PLM
- SAP and/or Oracle ERP.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across global teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure, persevere, and solve challenging problems.
- Passion for learning and adopting new technologies; able to work independently.
- Excellent organizational skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Willingness to expand knowledge in new product areas.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Product Development, Stage-Gate methodology, and water/outdoor/security products, as well as mechanical design, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality experience.
