Responsible for the analysis, design, and evaluation of structural components and systems used in industrial, commercial, and utility applications. This role ensures all designs meet safety, durability, and compliance standards while supporting the development of custom structural solutions such as modular buildings, equipment skids, steel platforms, and integrated electrical enclosures.
- Perform detailed structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, and other structural systems in accordance with applicable codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.).
- Design frames, platforms, skids, enclosures, foundations, and support structures for equipment and electrical systems.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure structural components align with functional, safety, and fabrication requirements.
- Conduct site evaluations, field measurements, and structural inspections as needed.
- Review vendor drawings and structural submittals for compliance with project requirements.
- Support project managers during bid, proposal, and project execution phases.
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, construction, and installation.
- Develop and maintain design standards, calculation templates, and structural engineering best practices.
- Assist with root-cause analysis of structural issues and provide corrective recommendations.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, customer specifications, and internal quality standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to optimize design efficiency, cost, and constructability.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering: Mechanical/Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within defined timeframe.
- 3–7+ years of structural engineering experience (industrial, manufacturing, utility, or modular systems preferred).
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, RISA, SAP2000, or similar.
- Strong understanding of structural design codes (AISC, ACI, ASCE).
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Understanding of fabrication and constructability considerations, particularly in steel structures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and project teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks is a plus.
