POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under general supervision, create and sustain technical information on existing and new products, performance, and applications. Provide field services to customers. Oversee the operation of pilot units for customers. Conduct product root-cause analysis, recommend corrective measures, and collaborate with customer to implement those improvements. Write technical product specifications. Provide feedback on competitors product performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support to Sales & Marketing staff as well as customers regarding company’s products, applications, and systems operation.
- Direct start-up commissioning at plants; manage pilot testing activities and operation of membrane; evaluate plant data and assess membrane performance; develop plant performance reports; troubleshoot plant problems or identify root cause of performance issues, making appropriate recommendations for system improvements while working with customers and end-users.
- Analyze data from pilot tests to extrapolate design and performance to a full-scale system; identify needs to change design features for new and existing products; advise appropriate internal staff.
- Create and write technical information on organization’s product specifications and product bulletins; prepare technology case studies and technical papers for journals.
- Collaborate with customers on system start-up, operation, and maintenance, including providing technical training on system operation.
- Build business relationships which benefit Hydranautics strategic sales plan.
- Participate in the evaluation of returned products relative to field operations.
- Review designs and warranties prepared by sales staff to develop sound offerings and obtain required approvals.
- Study pre-treatment and post-treatment technologies to determine the impact on membrane performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or comparable; 6 years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) or A & E companies and commissioning water treatment plants, a plus.
- Working knowledge of water chemistry concepts, fluid flow and water pressure as well as analytical method and technical writing; above average understanding of Reverse Osmosis, Ultrafiltration and Microfiltration processes and products.
- Working knowledge of plant processes, RO, NF and UF with practical application to the field.
- Solid understanding of the construction and manufacture of Spiral Wound elements and Capillary modules, modes of failure of membrane systems, and the effects of cleaning chemicals on the products.
- Ability to conduct analytical evaluations and identify root causes of failures and recommend corrective actions to improve product performance. Sound analytical methodologies for product evaluation.
- Strong application of critical thinking skills along with exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Strong multi-tasking skills, flexibility in responding to rapidly changing, dynamic processes and demands/pressures in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to verbally communicate across functional organizational groups, provide high-level customer service through effective interpersonal skills and conflict resolution.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other enterprise software applications.
- Travel for extended periods and work with a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to meet physical demands and work environment requirements.
