About the Role

The Sr. Program Manager has day-to-day responsibility for managing all aspects of strategically important, complex global programs and projects in support of Tech, InfoSec, and Engineering.

Uber Freight is looking for technical program managers (TPMs) who have a technical foundation and are natural motivators, cross-functional relationship builders, and champions for driving the right level of process to ensure smooth and predictable program execution in a fast-paced environment.

What the Candidate Will Do

This TPM role will directly support our Mexico, Cross-Border, and Customs tech and business teams

  • Assist business stakeholders with development and management of key priorities and help move IT assets to the work that matters most to the business.
  • Establish and monitor SLAs & SLOs for key business critical technologies and processes.
  • Ensure planning through deep discovery, scope, and feature set of programs, understand and articulate detailed requirements with all stakeholders and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing schedules, identifying risks and dependencies, obtaining cross team alignment, and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders.
  • Understand systems interdependencies and lead cross-functional teams towards technical solutions.
  • Proactively and effectively communicate program statuses, identify potential risks and setbacks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure program documents are complete, current, and available for staff and leadership review.
  • Effectively and concisely communicate to leadership to set expectations, tell a story, highlight and resolve misalignment.
  • Understand business drivers, impacts, technical considerations, and individual motivations; successful at getting buy-in for your ideas, leveraging data where impactful.
  • Solve complex and ambiguous problems with good judgment, critical thinking, and creative solutioning.
  • Conduct basic data analysis using tools such as SQL and Excel, and present the results in a graphical manner (charts, pivot tables).
Basic Qualifications
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience.
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years’ Cross-functional Program Management experience working among several groups such as design, product management, engineering, and business stakeholders.
  • Information Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
  • Professional Project Management certification (e.g., PMI, PMP, Agile).
  • Ability to understand technical subjects and emerging technologies, and their relevance to the marketplace.
  • Experience in Program Management, Cybersecurity Risk Management, Cybersecurity or related role.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Prior experience with agile methodologies.
  • Experience in the Mexican freight industry.
