Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Test Engineer with deep expertise in the characterization of BAW and SAW filters. This role is central to supporting product design and development by evaluating device performance and electrical characteristics outside of production screening. The ideal candidate will be proficient in failure analysis, technical documentation, data analysis, and debugging, with a strong understanding of RF filter behavior and test methodologies.

Filter characterization is the process of measuring and analyzing the electrical and RF performance of BAW (Bulk Acoustic Wave), SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) filters. This includes evaluating parameters such as insertion loss, return loss, center frequency, bandwidth, stopband attenuation, group delay, and temperature stability. Characterization is typically performed outside of production screening and is essential for validating design performance, supporting failure analysis, and optimizing new technologies.

In addition to electrical measurements, characterization may also include reliability testing and ORT (Outgoing Reliability Testing). These tests help ensure long‑term device stability and performance under various environmental and stress conditions, providing critical feedback to design and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and RF characterization of BAW/SAW filters at wafer level and PCM, outside of standard production test flows.
• Execute ad‑hoc measurement requests to support design validation, technology development, and failure analysis.
• Analyze S‑parameters, insertion loss, return loss, isolation, and other key RF metrics to assess product performance.
• Collaborate with design and modeling teams to correlate measured data with simulations and specifications.
• Document test setups, procedures, and results in clear, structured technical reports.
• Support debugging of new designs, including root cause analysis of performance deviations.
• Develop and maintain automated test routines and data analysis scripts.
• Assist in validating new process technologies and design iterations through hands‑on testing.

Required Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in RF product testing, preferably with BAW/SAW filters or RF switches.
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, impedance matching, and filter topologies.
• Experience with network analyzers, probe stations, and wafer‑level test equipment.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, JMP).
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Desired Experience and Skills

• Familiarity with RF modeling tools (e.g., ADS, HFSS).
• Experience with failure analysis techniques such as curve tracing, thermal imaging, or cross‑sectioning.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and scripting languages.
