Formación

• Mínimo 5 años de experiencia en roles de ciberseguridad enfocados en infraestructura y seguridad en la nube.
• Experiencia en detección y remediación de vulnerabilidades en sistemas de procesamiento de pagos.
• Conocimientos profundos de conceptos y protocolos de seguridad de red.

Responsabilidades

• Recomendar mejoras en la arquitectura de seguridad y mejores prácticas de desarrollo.
• Mantenerse actualizado sobre amenazas emergentes y evaluar su impacto.
• Probar y desarrollar nuevas capacidades de monitoreo de riesgos.

About Monato

Monato is building the financial infrastructure to address all financial needs across Mexico. Through our Finch platform, we provide comprehensive transfer solutions via Mexico's SPEI system, enabling fintechs, retailers, and SMEs to seamlessly integrate embedded finance solutions. Through our IFPE we plan on changing the rules of the game.

Role Mission

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Security Specialist with experience in designing, implementing, and managing security controls at cloud scale.

This role requires close collaboration with Engineering and Development teams to integrate security measures, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CSA). The position involves proactively identifying risks, mitigating vulnerabilities, and establishing a strong security posture to protect our infrastructure and critical data.

Tareas

Key Responsibilities

• Secure Architecture & Design : Recommend security architecture improvements, development best practices, and secure design principles from the ground up.
• Threat Intelligence & Vulnerability Management : Stay up to date on emerging threats and vulnerabilities, assess their potential impact, and coordinate mitigation efforts.
• Cloud Security Tools : Experience with native tools (CloudTrail, Security Hub, Azure Security Center, GuardDuty, etc.) and third‑party solutions (Cloud Security Posture Management – CSPM).
• Controls & Monitoring : Test, strengthen, and develop new detection capabilities to ensure effective risk monitoring.
• Cloud Expertise : Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Cybersecurity Frameworks : Proven experience applying cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and translating compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI‑DSS) into effective security controls in cloud environments.

Requisitos

Profile & Key Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles focused on cloud infrastructure and security.
• Proven experience in vulnerability detection and remediation within payment processing systems.
• Experience scaling complex infrastructure from scratch in secure and encrypted environments.
• Cloud Security : Expertise in securing AWS environments, identifying misconfigurations, and applying cloud infrastructure security best practices.
• Automation & Scripting : Skills in developing security tools, automating tests, and creating scripts for monitoring and incident response.
• Network Security : Deep knowledge of network security concepts, protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection / prevention systems (IDS / IPS).
• Leadership & Communication : Ability to effectively communicate security findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, influence strategic decisions, and guide teams through remediation processes.
• Nice to Have : Previous experience in the fintech or payment processing industry.
• Experience implementing compliance standards such as ISO 27001 and PCI DSS.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS, Azure, CISSP, CEH.
• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
