About the role

• Manage, plans, monitor, coordinate, and control the activities of assigned programs and projects involving capital investments (CAPEX), from approval, planning, and execution to delivery to the final customer, defining scope, time, and cost, and applying site safety and quality standards. Develops project management skills through support and guidance.
• Define and approve, together with project team members and stakeholders, the scope, timeline, costs, and KPIs of the assigned capital projects to be implemented at the site.
• Execute the projects based on the established scope and manage the stakeholders involved in the implementation.
• Deliver the projects on time and in accordance with site safety and quality standards applying project knowledge (Microsoft Project).
• Manage the resources assigned to the area.
• Contribute to the planning and monitoring of the plant’s total CAPEX spending and implement preventive and corrective measures to meet commitments & target of the site.
• Manage and coordinate the activities of the supervisors to ensure proper achievement of project execution objectives.

Location of the role: Mexico City, Tlalpan.

Your responsibilities

• Project start stage: Prepare the required documentation to officially start a project. (Project Brief, CAPEX request, quotation requests, review of project requirements and timelines).
• Planning stage: Break down the scope, develop the design and execution strategy, review with stakeholders, verify available resources, identify risks and constraints associated with the project.
• Communication & control stage: During the project execution continuously monitor and control risks or issues that may prevent the achievement of project objectives.
• Closure stage: Follow up on the closure of project activities, supplier execution, documentation tasks and handover to the areas benefiting from the CAPEX project under your responsibility.
• Management of the project: maintain area KPIs, seek improvement opportunities in the area’s processes (project management, CAPEX management). Provide guidance and mentorship in project management.

Experience and qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in managing capital projects, critical services (compressed air, HVAC, purified water), or installation of manufacturing or packaging equipment. (This is a senior-level role).
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry (food or automotive industries also allowed).
• Previous experience in team management (leadership of work teams).
• Knowledge of project management best practices (certificate or course).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project & SAP.
• Management of contractors and direct personnel.
• Compliance alignment with EHS standards.
• CAPEX management.
• English proficiency (Intermediate – Advanced).
