Opportunity
Plan, direct, and control the financial and accounting management of the travel agency, ensuring necessary liquidity for daily operations (BSP, supplier payments). The role is responsible for tax compliance with SAT, mitigating exchange rate risks, and the profitability of business units (Corporate, Leisure, MICE).
Key Responsibilities
A. Financial Management
- Collection Management: Supervise daily cash flow, crucial in an agency where customer collections and supplier payments have different timeframes.
- Foreign Exchange Management (FX): Execute hedging strategies and currency trading (USD, EUR, MXN) to protect profit margins against Mexican peso volatility.
B. Financial Operations Control
- BSP Control (IATA): Supervise the weekly/biweekly reconciliation and payment of the Billing and Settlement Plan (airline tickets), ensuring no discrepancies exist.
- Commission Management: Monitor effective collection of commissions (front and back-end) and overrides from airlines, hotels, and GDS providers (like Amadeus or Sabre).
- Accounts Receivable (Credit): Evaluate and authorize credit lines for corporate clients, minimizing past-due accounts.
C. Accounting and Tax
- Mexican Regulations: Ensure compliance with NIF (Financial Information Standards) and federal and state tax obligations (ISR, IVA, ISN).
- Invoicing 4.0: Supervise the correct issuance of CFDI 4.0, payment supplements, and management of operations with 0% rate (export of tourism services) vs. 16% rate.
- Audit: Coordinate internal and external audits and address SAT requirements.
D. Planning and Reporting
- Prepare the annual budget and conduct quarterly reviews (Forecast).
- Present monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet) to Management with variance analysis.
- Define financial KPIs: Margin per ticket, profitability per advisor, portfolio days, etc.
Experience & Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Public Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Administration.
Desirable: Master's in Finance or MBA.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management.
Essential: Previous experience in Tourism, Hospitality, or Travel Agencies (knowledge of IATA and GDS cycle).
Solid experience managing accounting teams in Mexico.
Technical Knowledge
Software: Proficiency in ERPs (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and desirable knowledge of agency Back‑Office systems (e.g., ANT).
Excel: Advanced Level (Macros, Pivot Tables, Financial Modeling).
Language: Advanced English (Bilingual) – Essential for communication with Corporate in Australia and the United States.

- Leadership: Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams (accountants, treasury, collections).
