A leading manufacturer in construction and mining equipment is seeking a quality management specialist in Tijuana, Mexico. You will conduct supplier audits, develop quality control procedures, and address quality issues. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, experience with quality management, and is bilingual in Spanish and English. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement and supports production operations.

Formación

  • Strong knowledge of quality management and management systems.
  • Experience with problem-solving tools such as 8D, DMAIC, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of methodologies such as lean manufacturing and process validation.
  • Bilingual Spanish–English.

Responsabilidades

  • Conduct audits to verify supplier compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop quality control procedures and plans.
  • Investigate root causes of quality issues and generate corrective actions.
  • Serve as the liaison for quality matters between stakeholders.
  • Track supplier performance and communicate results.
  • Improve existing quality processes and develop new tools.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supplier Audits and Evaluation: Conduct audits to verify that suppliers comply with established processes and quality standards.
  • Quality Management: Develop and implement quality control procedures and plans, including process validation and approval of production part approval packages (PPAP).
  • Problem Solving: Investigate root causes of quality issues, generate and follow up on corrective actions (e.g., using the 8D methodology), and participate in decisions regarding non-conforming materials.
  • Coordination: Serve as the main liaison for quality matters between the company, suppliers, customers, and sister plants.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track supplier performance through key metrics and communicate results to internal and external teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work on improving existing quality processes and developing new tools and capabilities.
  • Internal Support: Provide support to production operations and product development teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of quality management and management systems.
  • Experience with problem-solving tools such as 8D, DMAIC, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of methodologies such as lean manufacturing and process validation.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer tools such as MS Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish–English.
