A global technology company in Mexico is seeking a Quality Engineering Leader to standardize quality systems and mentor teams. You will ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements while driving quality improvements across cloud, data storage, and network sectors. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 8 years of relevant experience in leadership. JOB SUMMARY

Support the globalization of business through leading and coordinating the standardization of systems, procedures and policies across all of the Jabil workcells. This role is specifically aligned to support high-growth sectors including cloud infrastructure, data storage, network interface cards (NIC), and high-level assemblies (HLA), ensuring end-to-end quality across PCBA and system-level operations. Ensure that current and future quality and manufacturing systems meet and/or exceed customer and regulatory requirements. Review and promote improvement in customer metrics to ensure satisfaction. Act as a key liaison between Jabil sites for program transfers, including input into transfer plans and timelines, supporting data and knowledge transfer activities, and participating in launch activities. Provide support and technical guidance to new facility and/or workcell startups. Mentor and develop quality talent across the network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment and Retention:
  • Recruit, interview, and hire Global Quality Engineers and Managers
  • Communicate job criteria and profiles aligned to the sector’s needs (cloud, storage, NICs, HLA)
  • Coach and guide the recruitment process in alignment with Jabil standards
Employee and Team Development:
  • Identify strengths, gaps, and future capability needs in the team
  • Build technical depth in complex PCBA/system quality engineering
  • Mentor Quality talent to drive excellence and customer partnership
  • Build and manage leadership pipelines for Quality
Performance Management:
  • Set measurable goals aligned to key customer metrics (e.g., DPPM, CRR, FPY, field quality)
  • Deliver regular feedback and coaching; manage development plans
  • Recognize and reward strong performance
  • Guide the team through ambiguity and lead during escalations or crisis
Communication:
  • Facilitate clear communication within the team and with cross-functional groups
  • Adapt communication style to global stakeholders (sites, BU, customers)
  • Conduct regular team connects and project alignment reviews
FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Strategy and Direction:
  • Understand the strategic direction of the cloud and enterprise sector
  • Translate sector strategy into executable quality plans
  • Partner with the BU, Sector Quality, Ops, and GQ COE teams for alignment
  • Proactively identify risk/opportunity across customer/product lifecycles
Cost Management:
  • Streamline quality cost through early defect detection, test strategy, and digital tools
  • Drive cost-effective quality improvement and reduce escapes/rework/scrap
  • Leverage data to optimize resourcing and prioritize high-impact actions
Forecast Development and Accuracy:
  • Build robust resource forecasts aligned to transfer and ramp schedules
  • Monitor workload shifts across sites; balance resources accordingly
TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and standardize quality processes and tools across PCBA and HLA workcells
  • Ensure all systems comply with customer and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, IPC, IPC-A-610)
  • Represent Jabil in technical discussions during customer escalations and audits
  • Act as liaison during program transfers; ensure readiness at both sending and receiving sites
  • Drive deployment of quality digitization efforts and data-driven decision making
  • Build closed-loop processes and strong linkage to manufacturing/engineering
  • Mentor site quality leaders; build capability across global quality teams
  • Drive early engagement in NPI and ramp to ensure flawless launch
JOB QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Advanced understanding of PCBA and system-level assembly quality requirements in cloud/data/network sectors
  • Strong root cause analysis skills (DMAIC, 8D, 5 Whys, etc.) and Quality tools knowledge (SPC, MSA, FMEA)
  • Familiarity with server/rack-level test strategies and infrastructure product lifecycles
  • Strong data-driven mindset with proficiency in analytics and quality dashboards
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-site coordination skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (EE preferred); Master’s is a plus
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience supporting US/EU-based customers preferred
  • Global travel required as needed
