The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree, experience in sales, and fluency in both Spanish and English. This full-time position requires extensive travel within the territory.

Description

The Paving Team in the Global Construction and Infrastructure Division is seeking a talented Sales and Service Representative for the Northern & Caribbean districts of Latin America. This role focuses on achieving sales and service growth targets for Caterpillar Paving model families.

What you will do
  • Manage dealer relationships to market products and services while enhancing dealer sales capabilities in assigned territories.
  • Design and assist dealers with forecasts, sales strategies, and new product rollouts.
  • Conduct regular sales performance reviews and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Adhere to business process guidelines for variance programs and commercial actions.
  • Present products and services to stakeholders, addressing customer questions and needs.
  • Collaborate with business partners to fix product defects for end users in partnership with dealers.
  • Act as a consultant alongside the dealer for Paving customers, including visits to their jobsites.
What you Have - skills
  • Customer Focus: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑focused mindset. Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization’s industry group trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision‑making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner. Works to achieve win‑win in negotiations rather than taking a win‑lose approach.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. Experience in establishing and managing relationships with internal and dealer/customer audiences.
  • Value Selling: Knowledge of value selling concepts to qualify sales prospects. Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology, and services; ability to provide overall product/service value and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
Basic Requirements
  • University degree preferably in Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in Sales.
  • Advanced Spanish and English.
Top Candidates will also have
  • 3 years in commercial roles with dealer/customer interactions.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar Paving products and applications.
  • Strong drive and organizational skills.
Additional Details

Willingness to travel extensively within the territory: more than 50%.

Coverage responsibilities include Northern LATAM District and the Caribbean District except for Gecolsa Group (Colombia & Guyana) which are covered by another team member.
