A leading manufacturing company in Tijuana, Baja California, seeks a Cost Accountant. Responsibilities include managing standard costs, preparing financial forecasts, and supporting audits. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, especially with Oracle EBS. Strong communication skills are essential. Set and maintains standard costs and master pricing list, analyze variances and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and updates standard costs on a regular basis to ensure accurate and consistent inventory costs.
• Reviews and updates Master Price list based on provided escalation rates.
• Monitors PPV activities for analysis and communicate results to Procurement team for standard cost adjustments.
• Analyzes cost and inventory account variances and report findings.
• Handles daily requests for cost and pricing updates.
• Responsible for quarterly and yearly cost and pricing updates.
• Maintains yearly manufacturing rate calculations, including direct labor, labor overhead and material overhead rates.
• Support internal and external audits related to manufacturing costs and inventory accounts.
• Prepares month end journal entries, account reconciliations, and assists in the preparation of cost and inventory schedules.
• Prepares monthly and annually forecast/business plans for assigned accounts. Analyzes and reports actual and forecast variances.
• Develops and enforces company policies and procedures related to Cost and Inventory.
• Works closely with operation departments (Production, Procurement, Engineering) to understand how the company operates and where improvements can be made to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant.
• 3-5 years cost accounting experience.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal and customer service capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Experience in Oracle EBS system is required, preferably in Costing module.
• SAP cost experience preferred
• Experience with More4Apps is a plus.
