A global cleaning solutions company is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial operations from its Mexico-based finance team. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end closes, and collaborating on various accounting projects. Candidates must hold a degree in Accounting or Finance and have over 4 years of relevant experience, particularly in controllership functions. Strong skills in MS Excel and ERP systems are also required.

We are seeking a Contador Senior de Contabilidad General to support our North American operations from our México-based finance team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance across the region. The ideal candidate will contribute to the monthly financial close, group reporting, and various accounting projects, while collaborating across teams to maintain the integrity of our financial data.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in month-end close
  • Assists in preparation or review of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets, including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports. Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
  • Process and post journal entries
  • Reconciles general ledger account balances to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Ensure intercompany transactions are processed appropriately and balances are reconciled
  • Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes
  • Assists in accurate and appropriate recording of transactions
  • Creates related ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Assists in preparation for financial audit
  • Preparation and review of process documentation, including internal controls
  • Provides best practice recommendations for process improvements
  • Assist in EuroSox activities
  • General ledger maintenance
  • Develop innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
  • Other accounting and finance activities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
  • Minimum 4 year degree in Accounting or Finance
EXPERIENCE
  • 4+ years work experience directly related to controllership function
  • Proficiency in use of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Smartview, Access
  • ERP system experience, such as Infor LN, SAP, Oracle or Hyperion
OTHER (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS knowledge a plus
  • Ability to apply knowledge of accounting and financial analysis
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting financial data
  • Detail oriented in the execution and follow-up of work
  • Problem identification, analysis and ability to make recommendations
  • Judgment and problem-solving
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
