The Gas Compressor (GC) Change Manager I position reports to the GC Change and Configuration Manager. This role provides leadership and control over change within GC Engineering and ensures that:

  • Requirements are met.
  • Traceability exists from one product change to another.
  • Designs (new and revised) are reviewed by the appropriate individuals, and
  • Dispositions are correctly provided when designs are revised.

The position is responsible for coordinating and executing solutions to a variety of issues relating to GC Change and Configuration Management.

This role works in a team-oriented environment to accomplish tasks and ensure process consistency while providing positive customer service. The role frequently interfaces with all of the functional groups within GC Engineering, GC Product Management, GC CAM, Supply Chain, and other organizations related to GC sales orders.

Principal Accountabilities

The major functions of the Change Manager I include:

  • Ensuring data integrity, release, and maintenance of product structures for all GC product lines (NPI, Maintenance, Overhaul, and Customer Services).
  • The review and audit of submitted designs and related documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency between databases as well as compliance with company and department policies and procedures. Tasks include, but are not limited to, the registration of release history, and the maintenance of product data management systems.
  • Participates in internal and cross-functional Rapid Improvement and 6 Sigma Projects. Develops and contributes improvement ideas to continually improve the quality of change control and documentation management, as well as the simplification of associated business processes.
  • Participates in the creation, training, and deployment of Enterprise solutions and software as Subject Matter Experts for Configuration and Data Management.
  • Create and maintain GC specific standard work relating to change and configuration management tasks.
  • Support GC ISO audits.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field with 4-5 years of experience, or 7+ years equivalent work experience.
  • English proficiency.
  • Microsoft O365 proficiency.
Desired Traits/Skills
  • Experience with Solar products.
  • Team-oriented approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Windchill or other PLM software experience.
  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Ability to exercise discretion when balancing technical and business risk.
  • Ability to interpret and accurately communicate the intent of design changes.
  • CAD (Creo, Solidworks, NX) experience to help Mechanical Design group with changes when necessary.
