Job Description

The Hostess is the front-line ambassador of the restaurant, responsible for creating a polished first impression, managing guest flow, and ensuring a smooth dining experience even during peak rush hours. The ideal candidate is poised under pressure, excellent at crowd management, and skilled in handling long waitlists without compromising guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet guests professionally and warmly, maintaining hospitality standards at all times.
  • Manage high-volume guest traffic, including large crowds during peak hours.
  • Maintain and organize waitlists using digital or manual systems; provide accurate wait-time estimates.
  • Coordinate seating assignments to optimize table turnover and support service efficiency.
  • Communicate clearly with servers, supervisors, and kitchen staff regarding seatings and special requests.
  • Handle guest complaints or issues promptly and elevate when necessary.
  • Ensure the lobby/entrance area is clean, organized, and guest-friendly.
  • Assist with reservation management, phone inquiries, and guest confirmations.
  • Support the service team during rush hours when needed (escorting guests, helping with menus, etc.).
  • Uphold grooming, hygiene, and hospitality standards consistently.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Hostess in a high-footfall, high-pressure restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong crowd management and waitlist coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay calm, organized, and efficient during peak rush.
  • Professional grooming, polished appearance, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Familiarity with POS/reservation systems (OpenTable, SevenRooms, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Profile
  • Experience in GCC or international hospitality brands.
  • Multilingual ability (English mandatory; Arabic is a plus).
  • Confident, well-spoken, and capable of handling VIP or high-profile guests.
