Multiple Locations - Ali Al Salem Air Base (ASAB), Kuwait, Al Dhafra Air Base (ADAB), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Al Udeid Air Base, (AUAB), Qatar

Chenega Defense & Aerospace Solutions (CDAS) is currently seeking a Postal Clerk. The Postal Clerk supports the operation of OCONUS Military Postal Office (MPO) and provides postal support to authorized personnel and organizations, including authorized coalition personnel and units at locations within the 9th Air Force (AFCENT) Area of Responsibility.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Process all incoming and outgoing mail within established guidelines and standards IAW DoD 4525.6-M.
  • Separate, scan, and apply proper endorsements/postage and seals to mail labels, tags, pouches, and vehicles.
  • Generate and maintain required forms, expenditure reports/logs, and documents IAW applicable directives.
  • Perform open parcel inspections IAW CCR 25-63 for every parcel and enforce customs regulations.
  • Verify the unit mail clerk’s authority to receive and drop off mail via AF Form 4332, Accountable Communications Receipt Authorization.
  • Sort incoming mail by organization and prepare the mail for pickup by the unit mail clerks during prescribed times.
  • Prepare postal service forms involving notification and receipt of accountable and non-accountable mail and obtain required signatures from unit mail clerks.
  • Accept and prepare USPS indemnity claim applications and other customer inquiry forms.
  • Process all Priority and First-Class mail, including directory within 24 hours of reception and all other prograde mail received within 48 hours of reception.
  • Ensure mail is secured and protected from the elements and unauthorized access.
  • Remove labels and tags from empty mailbags and trays, and repair or rewrap damaged letters or parcel.
  • Monitor mail collection boxes located throughout the installations for authorized customers to deposit outgoing mail.
  • Notify on-site military MPO personnel of any issues noted regarding condition or location of mail collection boxes.
  • The below requirements are for AUAB Only:
    • Will conduct any required customs-related tasks with the host nation as assigned.
    • Process all mail for transport, to include opening and closing pouches in AMPS, nesting parcels, assigning transportation and printing PS-150, Universal Postal Union labels.
    • Generate and maintain required documentation IAW established guidelines and standards.
    • Deliver mail to and receive mail from military or authorized commercial airline representatives as required.
    • Perform commercial airline and Air Mobility Command (AMC) cargo area checks and monitor ramp transfers IAW guidelines and standards.
    • Report of Irregular Handling of Mail and Postal Net Alert (PNA) reports via AMPS for 9 AF (AFCENT) review.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and able to drive a standard transmission.
  • Must have an active passport with at least six months of validity remaining from the date of departure to the international destination
  • Must be a US citizen
  • National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Clearance
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • 2+ years of postal experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass a medical prescreening for deployment.
  • Ability to travel up to 90-100% of the time.
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Ability to meet and maintain the certifications/qualifications for deployment travel to hazardous duty locations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly, customer-focused attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of individuals, including those at upper levels of the government.
