Job Overview

The Optometrist will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating eye diseases and disorders as well as fitting glasses or contact lenses for patients of all ages. The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye care service to our patients by examining their eyes and vision; checking for any abnormalities; advising on corrective lenses; monitoring the changes in eyesight over time; providing advice on lifestyle choices that may affect vision; referring to specialists if needed; and performing other related tasks as required.

Duties

• Examine patients’ eyes using specialized instruments and techniques to detect any visual abnormalities or eye diseases
• Prescribe glasses, contact lenses or other corrective measures as required
• Advise on lifestyle changes that may help to improve vision
• Monitor changes in patient’s eyesight over time
• Refer patient to specialist if needed
• Keep accurate records of all examinations
