Overview

• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking fluids, and tuning up engines
• Diagnose mechanical problems accurately using computerized equipment
• Repair faulty systems or components including brakes, steering, suspension, exhaust systems, air conditioning systems, etc.
• Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs
• Keep accurate records of time spent on each job
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding service and repairs
• Maintain cleanliness in the workspace at all times

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical schooling preferred
• At least 5 years of experience working as a mechanic in the automotive industry
• Knowledgeable about the tools, components, and parts used in vehicle repair
• Good problem-solving skills; able to diagnose mechanical issues accurately
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision; excellent organizational skills
