Marketplace Business Development Associate

The main objective of Souq.com Marketplace Business Development Associate is to identify new business opportunities. This includes understanding how Souq.com Marketplace operates, researching and engaging prospective sellers across key categories, and thinking creatively to expand the seller base and product selection.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research internet, directories, industry events, publications, LinkedIn, and announcements to identify opportunities.
  2. Set up meetings or calls with prospective marketplace sellers and internal business development managers.
  3. Manage and update contacts and data via the company CRM.
  4. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.

Language Skills: Fluent/Excellent in English and Arabic.

Own a Car and Have a Driving License: Yes, any.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven background in business development or related experience.
  • Strong presentation and B2B sales skills.
  • Research, strategic analysis, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident cold calling.
  • Arabic language skills and industry contacts are a plus.
  • Ability to close deals and manage relationships.
  • Strong time management and performance monitoring skills.
  • Self-motivated, passionate, and resilient.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Willingness to travel for meetings.
