Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure for port and terminal operations (servers, networks, storage).

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer for Port and Terminal Infrastructure to join our organization in Kuwait. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining critical IT infrastructure systems that support port and terminal operations. You will work with complex, mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment where reliability and efficiency are paramount. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a commitment to operational excellence.

  • Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure systems supporting port and terminal operations, including servers, networks, and storage solutions
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency for all critical infrastructure components
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to port operations systems, including SCADA and industrial control systems
  • Implement and enforce security protocols and cybersecurity measures to protect critical infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities
  • Manage network architecture, including configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of networking equipment and systems
  • Collaborate with terminal operations teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Conduct regular system audits and performance analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimization
  • Document all infrastructure configurations, procedures, and changes in a clear and organized manner
  • Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff and end-users on infrastructure-related matters
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance system performance and operational capabilities
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for port and terminal operations
What do we need from you
  • Minimum 12 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure management and system administration
  • Proven experience working with port, terminal, or maritime operations technology systems
  • Strong knowledge of network administration, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall management
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA systems and industrial control systems
  • Proficiency with virtualization platforms and cloud infrastructure technologies
  • Experience with system monitoring and management tools
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and critical infrastructure protection
  • Knowledge of database management and backup/disaster recovery solutions
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Preferred: Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco certifications, or ITIL
  • Preferred: Experience with project management and vendor coordination
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Gulf region port operations and infrastructure standards
