Job summary

Want More in Hawalli is seeking a skilled Baker to join our kitchen team. You will mix and prepare dough, bake and decorate pastries and breads, and ensure all products meet quality and safety standards.

You will work early mornings, weekends, and holidays, handling equipment like mixers and ovens, and collaborating with colleagues to develop new recipes while maintaining efficiency and consistency across all items.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; culinary training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of professional baking experience.
• Knowledge of flours, sugars, yeasts, and other baking ingredients.
• Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.
• Excellent time-management and attention to detail.
• Physically able to lift at least 50 pounds and work early shifts.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, cakes, pastries, cookies, and other baked goods according to recipes.
• Measure and mix ingredients to form dough or batter using various equipment such as mixers or ovens.
• Monitor baking process and adjust temperatures as needed to ensure perfect results.
• Decorate finished products with icing, glaze or other toppings as per customer requests.
• Ensure that all products meet food safety standards by following proper sanitation guidelines and storing ingredients correctly.
• Keep track of inventory levels and inform management when supplies need to be replenished.
• Train new bakers on company procedures and recipes.
• Collaborate with other team members to develop new recipes or improve existing ones.
