Job summary

Dasman Diabetes Institute seeks a Dietitian to provide one-on-one MNT education and develop educational materials for patients and the public in Kuwait City. Kuwaiti candidates only, with a strong background in medical nutrition therapy and bilingual Arabic-English communication.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, therapeutic diet planning, and coordinating with physicians. The role also involves contributing to department projects and delivering group education sessions as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum of related experience in a similar organization.
• Competent in applying Medical Nutrition Therapy.
• Good communication skills in both Arabic and English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Knowledge of behavioral modification theories is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients nutritional needs.
• Develop and implement therapeutic diets.
• Evaluate and report document results.
• Confer with physicians and other health care providers to coordinate medical and nutritional needs of patients.
• Counsel individuals, groups, families, and caretakers on nutritional practices to prevent disease and promote health.
• Assist in conducting nutritional education group sessions for patients.
• Develop evidence-based nutrition educational material.
• Assist in supervising cooking classes when required.
• Assist in developing and implementing at least one departmental project or service and carry out duties as assigned.

Function

• Any other duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Head of Unit

Required Skills and Expertise

• Two years minimum of related experience in similar organization

• Good communication skills in both Arabic and English reading writing speaking
• Knowledge of behavioral modification theories is desirable
• Capable of developing educational material
• Current membership of professional associations for nutrition is desirable
• Valid Practice license
